  • Hello, I am doing an MFA… degree show is on 18th june… I am doing a sound piece that will move from mono-stereo – 5.1/7.1….
I need a bit of help… I am scared of losing data etc… it seems that now when I open the file I have warnings sayong there are blocked files… I don’t know what this means… also in editing I am having to remove clicks by hand… a very time consuming job…
basically I would like 1-1 advice if possible… via skype or phone… just someone I can talk to who knows this programme inside out…
Please advise if this is possible

    Hi Nell,

You don’t have to be scared of losing data if you do these two simple things:

    1) Make a copy of your Audacity project before you make any further changes.
    2) Save (Ctrl+S) after every action you take.

    Regarding the things you’re encountering:

    1) I’d have to see the exact message about the blocked files to advise you.
    2) For the clicks, you might be able to remove them using the “noise reduction” tool. I have a tutorial about that.

If all of this is inadequate, I’d be happy to consult with you about what you need. My rate is $75/hr.
